Blue Turtle Charters is owned and skippered by Rob King who will warmly welcome you aboard and impart his wealth of knowledge learned throughout many years at sea.

Blue Turtle specialises in fishing charters and sightseeing boat trips, historically offering diving trips for qualified divers to the various wrecks and reefs in Lyme Bay.

Rob has operated Blue Turtle since 2010. He is an experienced angler who counts his best catch as a bass of thirteen and a half pounds. He’s also a keen diver with hundreds of UK dives logged as well as some foreign diving. 

Rob is a keen angler and commercial fisherman using his own 21 foot boat for some netting, potting and rod and line fishing.

He has worked with Plymouth University for a number of years, assisting with the filming and monitoring of the Lyme Bay Marine Protected Area as well as undertaking environmental impact assessments of a local mussell farm.

He has a particular interest in helping and encouraging novice and less experienced anglers and is a member of Lyme Regis Sea Angling Club.

Anglers fishing off Blue Turtle have a good record in LRSAC competitions.

The boat

Blue Turtle is a modern, comfortable and well equipped boat with all the best navigational and fish finding equipment with good deck space for fishing

Blue Turtle is an Offshore 105 with a full MCA certification for operating charters 60 miles from any landfall. The boat is licensed for up to 12 passengers along with 2 crew.

The boat has a powerful 420hp engine.

It is equipped with an electronic chart plotter, fish finder and radar.

There is a toilet, microwave and kettle on board.

The boat has also been previously chartered to carry out light cargo transport and has also been used to carry out survey work in relation to bird populations and also underwater filming.
